At least they didn't get a mandate. That's the only good thing I can say about this result, which signals that our enlightened neighbor to the north is starting to dance to the inharmonious tune we've been playing the last few years.

Some Canadians have expressed reservations about Harper’s views opposing abortion and gay marriage.I suppose it's good that they "expressed reservations," but they're still going to let Harper run the country, no? This will be a big test: Once gay marriage is "done," can it be undone? Or will the populace resist?
